1. NH3/CO2: The Principle of Cascade Refrigeration System
The NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system is ingeniously crafted with two distinct segments: the high temperature stage and the low temperature stage. Deploying NH3 as the refrigerant for the high temperature stage and CO2 for the low, it creates a seamless cooling synergy. The evaporative action of NH3 at the high temperature level ingeniously condenses the CO2 refrigerant coming from the low temperature level, achieving an efficient energy exchange. A dual-purpose condensation evaporator harmoniously connects these systems, functioning both as the condenser for the low temperature and the evaporator for the high temperature stage.
Energy transfer is a marvel in this system: the heat load is skillfully channeled to the CO2 refrigerant via the end evaporator. As CO2 absorbs heat, it transfers it to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant through the condensing evaporator. The NH3, in turn, releases this heat to the environment via the high-temperature condenser and a cooling medium. Post-condensation, CO2 enters the reservoir and makes its way to the gas-liquid separator through a dryer filter and throttle valve, ensuring purity and precision. The liquid CO2, moving through the circulation pump, reaches the evaporator. Post-evaporation, the two-phase CO2 finds its way back to the separator, while gaseous CO2 is expertly re-compressed into the condensing evaporator, perpetuating a flawless cycle.

The high-temperature NH3 refrigeration system mirrors conventional setups, embracing components like the refrigeration compressor, condenser, liquid storage, gas-liquid separator, and throttling device.
