1. NH3/CO2: Unveiling the Principle of the Cascade Refrigeration System
The NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system consists of a sophisticated dual-stage mechanism: a high-temperature stage utilizing ammonia (NH3) as the refrigerant and a low-temperature stage powered by carbon dioxide (CO2). This ingenious design employs the evaporation of NH3 in the high-temperature stage to effectively condense CO2 gas from the low-temperature stage. A unique condensation evaporator synergistically links these two stages, serving as both the condenser for CO2 and the evaporator for NH3, ensuring seamless and efficient operation.
Heat management is expertly handled as the CO2 refrigerant absorbs energy through the end evaporator. This heat is then transferred to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant via the condensing evaporator. Subsequently, NH3 discharges the heat to the environment through a high-temperature condenser, aided by a cooling medium. The cycle continues as condensed CO2 travels to the CO2 reservoir and then to the gas-liquid separator through a dryer filter and throttle valve. Liquid CO2 is efficiently circulated to the CO2 evaporator by a circulation pump, initiating the refrigerant cycle, which is repeated to ensure a constant cascade refrigeration cycle.
NH3/CO2: In this cascade refrigeration system, the distinct high and low-temperature levels function independently with single refrigerants. The high-temperature NH3 system mirrors conventional setups featuring a refrigeration compressor, condenser, liquid storage, gas-liquid separator, and throttling device. The low-temperature CO2 system is equally advanced, comprising a CO2 compressor, condensing evaporator, reservoir, gas-liquid separator, filter dryer, pump, throttling device, evaporator, and expansion vessel, offering a robust and reliable refrigeration solution.
The The CO2 gas-liquid separator plays a pivotal role in segregating CO2 gas droplets from the evaporator to avert compressor malfunctions and maintain a constant liquid level during pump activity. It also efficiently manages liquid return when the pump ceases. In non-operational states, it can serve as a CO2 reservoir, capable of accommodating the full CO2 liquid volume of the system. An auxiliary evaporator atop the separator ensures CO2 pressure remains controlled post-shutdown. Within the NH3/CO2 cascade, the condensing evaporator functions dually as NH3's evaporator and CO2's condenser, meticulously converting CO2 gas into a liquid.
