At the high-temperature tier, NH3 serves as the master refrigerant, while CO2 reigns supreme at the low-temperature stage. The ingenious system harnesses the power of NH3 evaporation in the high-temperature level to condense the effervescent CO2 refrigerant gas from the low-temperature level. A condensation evaporator, a marvel of engineering, seamlessly bridges the high and low-temperature stages, functioning dually as the condenser for the low-temperature level and the evaporator of the high-temperature tier.
In this state-of-the-art cascade system, heat load is deftly transferred to the CO2 refrigerant through the terminal evaporator, initiating a sophisticated sequence where CO2 efficiently absorbs heat. This heat then journeys to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant via the condensing evaporator. The NH3 refrigerant, now a carrier of warmth, transfers and unleashes this heat at the high-temperature condenser, dispersing it into the environment through a cooling medium. As this precise cycle unfolds, the condensed CO2 within the condensing evaporator makes its way to the CO2 reservoir, progressing through the dryer filter and throttle valve to enter the CO2 gas-liquid separator. An orchestrated movement ensues, where liquid CO2 is dispatched to the CO2 evaporator via a circulation pump, setting the stage for the triumphant return of two-phase CO2 to the separator. Gaseous CO2 is then drawn into the compressor, completing this meticulously choreographed cascade refrigeration cycle, ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Within the NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, both the high and low-temperature levels operate as independent refrigeration systems, each employing a singular, dedicated refrigerant. The system's architectural elegance divides it into two integral sections: the high-temperature NH3 refrigeration system, a paragon of conventional design, encompassing the refrigeration compressor, condenser, liquid storage, gas-liquid separator, and throttling device, and the low-temperature CO2 refrigeration system, a showcase of innovation that includes the CO2 compressor, condensing evaporator, reservoir, gas-liquid separator, filter dryer, pump, throttling device, evaporator, and expansion vessel. Aided by an auxiliary evaporator atop the separator, this setup effectively averts excessive CO2 pressure post-shutdown. Meanwhile, the NH3/CO2 cascade system's condensing evaporator performs a dual role: it serves as the NH3 side's evaporator and the CO2 side's condenser, with compound liquid evaporating and absorbing heat within the tube, while carbon dioxide gas transitions to its liquid state in the shell.
