Delve into the NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, ingeniously crafted in two essential stages: the high-temperature stage, harnessing NH3 as its refrigerant, and the low-temperature stage, fueled by CO2. In this sophisticated setup, the NH3 refrigerant in the high-temperature level gracefully evaporates, skillfully condensing the CO2 refrigerant gas from the low-temperature level. A vital condensation evaporator skillfully bridges these stages, acting dually as the condenser for the low-temperature stage and the evaporator for the high-temperature stage, ensuring seamless operation.
Heat load is expertly transferred to the CO2 refrigerant through the end evaporator, which then passes the absorbed heat to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant via the condensing evaporator. This high-temperature NH3 refrigerant further transfers the heat to a high-temperature condenser, where it's elegantly released into the environment through a cooling medium. Condensed CO2 in the condensing evaporator enters a CO2 reservoir and proceeds through a dryer filter and throttle valve to the CO2 gas-liquid separator. The liquid CO2 is then propelled to the CO2 evaporator via a CO2 circulation pump. After the evaporator, the resulting two-phase CO2 swiftly returns to the gas-liquid separator, where gaseous CO2 is drawn in by the compressor, compressed, and sent back to the condensing evaporator. This meticulous cycle repeats to complete the entire cascade refrigeration cycle.
In the NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, both high and low temperature levels operate with single refrigerants. The sophisticated equipment is divided into two domains: the high-temperature NH3 refrigeration system mirrors conventional systems, consisting of a refrigeration compressor, condenser, liquid storage, gas-liquid separator, and a throttling device. Meanwhile, the low-temperature CO2 refrigeration system includes a CO2 compressor, condensing evaporator, reservoir, gas-liquid separator, filter dryer, pump, throttling device, evaporator, and an expansion vessel, ensuring efficient and reliable performance.
The The CO2 gas-liquid separator plays a pivotal role in skillfully separating CO2 gas droplets from the evaporator within the CO2 compression refrigeration system. This separation averts compressor wet strokes, maintains a stable liquid level during pump operation, and ensures safe liquid return when the pump halts. Additionally, if the gas-liquid separator functions as a CO2 reservoir in an idle state, its volume must accommodate all system CO2 liquid. Furthermore, an auxiliary evaporator atop the gas-liquid separator is essential for preventing excessive CO2 pressure post-shutdown. Within the NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, the condensing evaporator serves as both the NH3 side's evaporator and the CO2 side's condenser, facilitating compound liquid evaporation and heat absorption inside the tube, while carbon dioxide gas is efficiently condensed into liquid within the shell.
