In the innovative NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, we transcend traditional cooling approaches by integrating two distinct temperature stages. The high-temperature stage utilizes NH3 as the refrigerant, offering a robust and efficient cooling solution. Meanwhile, the low-temperature stage employs CO2 as the refrigerant for superior performance. This intelligent design uses the evaporation of NH3 in the high-temperature system to efficiently condense the CO2 refrigerant discharged from the low-temperature system. At the heart of this system is the condensation evaporator, which seamlessly connects the two stages, serving as both the low temperature condenser and the high temperature evaporator.
The heat exchange process is impeccably executed as the CO2 refrigerant absorbs heat in the end evaporator. This absorbed heat is then transferred to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant through the condensing evaporator. Subsequently, the NH3 refrigerant releases this heat into the environment via the high-temperature condenser with the assistance of a cooling medium. Upon condensation in the evaporator, CO2 enters the reservoir before transitioning to the CO2 gas-liquid separator through a meticulously designed pathway involving a dryer filter and throttle valve. The liquid CO2 is propelled to the CO2 evaporator using a circulation pump, ensuring continuous cooling cycles without the need for an end cooling device. Through this cycle, the system achieves an exceptional balance of efficiency and reliability.
The NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system ingeniously divides its operations into two parts: a high-temperature NH3 system and a low-temperature CO2 system, each utilizing a single refrigerant. The high-temperature NH3 system mirrors a conventional setup, complete with a refrigeration compressor, condenser, liquid storage, gas-liquid separator, and a throttling device. In contrast, the low-temperature CO2 system is a marvel of engineering, featuring a CO2 compressor, condensing evaporator, reservoir, gas-liquid separator, filter dryer, pump, throttling device, evaporator, and an expansion vessel. Together, these systems offer unparalleled refrigeration capabilities, catering to both standard and advanced cooling requirements.
The The CO2 gas-liquid separator plays a crucial role in the CO2 compression refrigeration system. It expertly separates droplets from the CO2 gas emerging from the evaporator, safeguarding the compressor against wet strokes. This device ensures a stable liquid level during pump operation and adeptly stores returning liquid in the system when the pump ceases operation. Remarkably, if used as a CO2 reservoir during downtime, it has the capacity to hold all the CO2 liquid in the system. Enhancing safety, an auxiliary evaporator is installed atop the gas-liquid separator to effectively regulate CO2 pressure after shutdown. In this cascade system, the condensing evaporator uniquely functions as both an NH3 evaporator and a CO2 condenser, where compound liquid evaporates and absorbs heat within the tube, while CO2 gas is condensed into a liquid in the shell.
