The system's heat load is impeccably transferred to the CO2 refrigerant via the end evaporator. Subsequently, the CO2 refrigerant proficiently channels the absorbed heat to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant through the condensing evaporator. The NH3 refrigerant, in its high-temperature state, then elegantly transfers this heat to the high-temperature condenser, thereby releasing it to the environment using an efficient cooling medium. Within the condensing evaporator, the CO2 condenses and enters the CO2 reservoir, progressing to the CO2 gas-liquid separator through a meticulously crafted path involving a dryer filter and throttle valve. The journey continues as liquid CO2 is propelled to the CO2 evaporator by a specialized circulation pump, sans end cooling devices like freezers or chillers. Post-evaporation, the return journey of the two-phase CO2 to the gas-liquid separator is smooth, from where gaseous CO2 is expertly compressed by the compressor back into the condensing evaporator, perpetuating this sophisticated cycle for an uninterrupted cascade refrigeration process.

Should the gas-liquid separator serve as a CO2 reservoir when inactive, it is meticulously designed to accommodate the entire CO2 liquid volume within the system. An auxiliary evaporator, strategically positioned atop the gas-liquid separator, adeptly prevents excessive CO2 pressure post-shutdown. Within the NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, the condensing evaporator ingeniously dual functions as the NH3 side's evaporator and the CO2 side's condenser, allowing compound liquid to elegantly evaporate and absorb heat within the tube while carbon dioxide gas is brilliantly condensed into liquid within the shell.
