2. It has a low standard boiling temperature and maintains moderate pressure levels in both the condenser and evaporator.
3. With a high refrigeration capacity per unit volume, ammonia requires less circulation per unit of cooling capacity. Its high thermal conductivity and significant latent heat of vaporization enhance efficiency.
4. It minimizes throttling loss, resulting in high operating efficiency.
5. Operating at low pressure, it reduces the demands on machinery and lowers material costs for refrigeration systems.
6. Ammonia emits a pungent odor, easily detectable by smell, leak test paper, and test drugs. With air containing 50mg/m3 of ammonia, the human nose can detect it.
7. It is insoluble with mineral oil, facilitating easy separation at low temperatures. Ammonia's lower density than oil enables refrigeration oil to sink below the ammonia liquid, simplifying oil return to the system.
8. It exhibits stable thermodynamic and chemical properties at both room and low temperatures.
