1. Principle of NH3/CO2 Cascade Refrigeration System
In the NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, our innovative design comprises two pivotal stages: the high-temperature stage, utilizing NH3 as the refrigerant, and the low-temperature stage, where CO2 takes the lead. Ingeniously, the evaporated NH3 at the high-temperature level condenses the CO2 gas, seamlessly discharged from the lower temperature level. A sophisticated condensation evaporator unites these stages, serving dually as the low-temperature condenser and the high-temperature evaporator.
Harnessing the power of thermal transfer, the CO2 refrigerant absorbs heat via the end evaporator. This heat is skillfully transferred to the high-temperature NH3 through the condensing evaporator. The high-temperature NH3 then efficiently releases this heat to the environment using a cooling medium through the high-temperature condenser. After condensation, the CO2 flows into the CO2 reservoir, journeying through a dryer filter and throttle valve into the gas-liquid separator. Propelled by the CO2 circulation pump, the liquid travels to the CO2 evaporator, completing a cycle as two-phase CO2 returns to the separator, then compressed by the compressor back into the condensing evaporator. This cycle ensures a continuous, efficient cascade refrigeration process.
The NH3/CO2 cascade system divides into two sophisticated segments: the high-temperature NH3 refrigeration system, mirroring traditional systems with a compressor, condenser, liquid storage, and more; and the low-temperature CO2 system, featuring CO2 compressor, condensing evaporator, reservoir, and additional components like a gas-liquid separator, ensuring comprehensive refrigeration capabilities.
The Our CO2 gas-liquid separator plays a crucial role in refining the NH3/CO2 system. It meticulously separates droplets from CO2 gas post-evaporation, averting compressor wet stroke and ensuring liquid stability during pump operation. Acting as a reservoir during downtimes, it accommodates all CO2 liquid, complemented by an auxiliary evaporator that adeptly manages CO2 pressure post-shutdown. The condensing evaporator ingeniously serves dual roles, evaporating compound liquid on the NH3 side and converting CO2 gas into liquid on the other, maximizing thermal efficiency.
