Our innovative NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system expertly integrates two distinct stages: the high-temperature stage employs NH3 as the refrigerant, while the low-temperature stage utilizes CO2. In this harmonious system, the evaporation of NH3 refrigerant in the high-temperature level facilitates the condensation of CO2 refrigerant gas discharged from the lower temperature level. The magic happens in the condensation evaporator, seamlessly bridging the high and low-temperature stages. It serves a dual purpose as the condenser for the low temperature and the evaporator for the high temperature, ensuring a seamless and efficient transition.
The sophisticated heat exchange begins with the end evaporator transferring the heat load to the CO2 refrigerant. The absorbed heat is then relayed to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant via the condensing evaporator. The journey continues as the NH3 refrigerant channels the heat to the high-temperature condenser, ultimately releasing it into the environment through a cooling medium. After condensation, CO2 makes its way to the CO2 reservoir and subsequently to the CO2 gas-liquid separator, traveling through a dryer filter and throttle valve. This cycle, sustained by a CO2 circulation pump, orchestrates an unending dance of heat transfer—effortlessly cycling through evaporators and separators, compressing and completing the cascade refrigeration cycle.
In our NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, each temperature level operates independently, with its own dedicated single refrigerant system. The high-temperature NH3 system is akin to a conventional setup, encompassing a compressor, condenser, liquid storage, gas-liquid separator, and throttling device. Meanwhile, the low-temperature CO2 system features its own complement of components, including a CO2 compressor, condensing evaporator, reservoir, gas-liquid separator, filter dryer, pump, throttling equipment, evaporator, and expansion vessel.
The In the CO2 compression refrigeration system, the gas-liquid separator plays a vital role in filtering CO2 gas droplets from the evaporator. It averts compressor wet strokes, sustains a stable liquid level during pump operations, and accommodates pipeline and equipment liquid returns during pump downtime. As a reservoir when inactive, it must accommodate the entire system's CO2 liquid volume. An auxiliary evaporator positioned atop the gas-liquid separator prevents excessive CO2 pressure buildup post-shutdown. Within the NH3/CO2 cascade system, the multifunctional condensing evaporator serves as both the NH3 side evaporator and CO2 side condenser, where compound liquids evaporate, absorbing heat, while carbon dioxide gas transitions to liquid form in the shell.
