3. Its large refrigeration capacity per unit volume minimizes refrigerant circulation requirements for each unit of cooling capacity. Ammonia also offers superior thermal conductivity and a high latent heat of vaporization.

5. It operates at low pressures, necessitating simpler machinery and reducing material costs for refrigeration systems.
6. The pungent odor of ammonia is easily detectable, even in minimal concentrations, using smell, leak test paper, or test drugs. Human senses can distinguish ammonia when the air contains as little as 50mg/m3.
7. Ammonia doesn't dissolve in mineral oil and can be easily separated from oil at low temperatures. Its lower density compared to oil ensures that refrigeration oil sinks below the ammonia liquid, facilitating easy oil return to the system.
8. Ammonia's thermodynamic and chemical properties remain stable at both room and low temperatures.
9. Its Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) is zero, and its Global Warming Potential (GWP) is also zero.

By incorporating optimizations such as plate heat exchangers, dry shell evaporators, nitrogen direct expansion supply, and NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration cycles, the amount of refrigerant required can be significantly reduced. Simplifying large ammonia refrigeration systems using direct expansion supply and ammonia-compatible lubricating oils further curtails the requisite ammonia quantities.

Leveraging high-efficiency air coolers can drastically reduce ammonia storage in cold rooms. The prevailing international trend is to minimize ammonia injection volumes while opting for efficient, energy-saving air coolers. High-efficiency variable pitch stainless steel coil air coolers, used as evaporators, can achieve the same cooling capacity with just 5% of the ammonia typically required by traditional smooth discharge pipe systems, ultimately reducing ammonia injection by 95%.
