NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system ingeniously comprises two stages: a high-temperature stage using NH3 and a low-temperature stage using CO2. Here, NH3's evaporation in the high-temperature system facilitates the condensation of CO2 gas from the low-temperature stage. This clever integration employs a condensation evaporator, uniquely serving as both the low-temperature condenser and the high-temperature evaporator, seamlessly bridging these two dynamic parts.
The system's efficiency is remarkable as it masterfully transfers heat load to the CO2 refrigerant via the end evaporator. The absorbed heat then flows to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant through the condensing evaporator, which subsequently channels this heat to the high-temperature condenser, releasing it into the environment through a cooling medium. In this process, condensed CO2 enters the CO2 reservoir and continues through the gas-liquid separator, ensuring optimal flow. Liquid CO2 is propelled to the CO2 evaporator via the circulation pump.
